Skin care is something I've always taken pretty seriously, following a morning and night routine religiously from my late teens. There's only so much makeup can cover up! Ive tried out so many different facial washes and exfoliators in my quest to find "the one" (or two in my case!) The couple that have by far given me the best results are: Bioré Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser and St. Ives Blemish Fighting Apricot Scrub. Its quite clear to see I'm a fan of these products from the photos of the almost empty bottles! I've found that using these products on alternate mornings works best for me. My skin type could be described as oily to combination, so if you have a similar skin type then they could also be your dream team!
Oh Bioré what would I do without you! I have been a constant fan of their products and can honestly say they have never disappointed me. This Deep Pore Charcoal has become a firm favourite of mine from the moment it hit the shops! Charcoal is known for its deep cleansing properties and ability to draw out impurities. The cleanser is a light gel-like consistency and contains micro beads which are extremely gentle on the skin, leaving your face with a lovely cooling sensation. I prefer to use relatively smooth cleansers like this with a facial brush. I've found that you only need a pea sized amount of the product to lather up the whole face; so great value for money! It lasts for ages and its a drugstore face wash, so won't leave your purse too much lighter. Definitely worth a try!
St. Ives Apricot Scrub is another treasured facial cleanser. I've tried out a few different drugstore scrubs (always eager to check out the newest hype), but I always come back to this one. The exfoliants are 100% natural so thats an added bonus, and I always feel that after I've used this my face feels really clean and refreshed. It also contains salicylic acid which is great for spot prone skin. I'd advise you to be gentle when applying this scrub though, as the beads are quite tough so may not suit sensitive or overly dry skin. I often get put off by overly citrusy smelling products, but this one is subtle enough that it can get away with it and smell quite pleasant. Like the Bioré cleanser it also lasts a while when used sparingly; It's a thick consistency so you don't need a lot. Would recommend this to anyone with oily/spot prone skin who is after a good exfoliating scrub.
