M.A.C Nude Lipstick Collection

Lipstick is a part of the make up routine that can pull everything together and complete a look! When searching for the perfect lip shade its essential to consider factors such as skin tone, eye makeup and outfit colours in order to choose the shade that will compliment them best. The 'Nude' lip has become a staple in many girls make up kits, including mine! They are extremely versatile and with M.A.Cs huge range of colours theres a shade to suit every skin tone.

Pictured above are my favourite nude M.A.C lipsticks; Brave, Modesty, Mehr, Spirit and Honey-Love. M.A.C Lipsticks come in a few different finishes, so be sure to check when picking one up. The 'matte' lip has been a major trend for the last few years and doesn't seem to be going out of fashion any time soon! The M.A.C matte lipsticks glide on smoothly and leave your lips shine free with good coverage. Honey-Love is my long standing favourite nude shade and I like to layer it over stripdown lipliner for a beautiful tan-toned nude look. Mehr is a lovely dark-pinkey nude shade and I find it great if you want to bring a bit more attention to your lips, whilst still looking subtle enough for everyday. The only criticism I would have with the 'matte' lipsticks is they do tend to be a bit drying on the lips. I find that applying a little lip balm gives a better finish.

'Satin' is by far my favourite lip finish of the M.A.C Lipsticks. The consistency is not too glossy and has a nice natural feel to it. Spirit is a much more browny shade than the others I own and I think its perfect for the Autumn time! It gives your lips a warm chocolate hue and a slightly more grungey vibe than the rest. A pretty everyday rose-toned lipstick you could try is: Brave. The colour works well with most make up looks and is a great easy lip colour to pull off effortlessly! The last of my M.A.C nude lipsticks is modesty. I must admit I'm not a fan of the 'cremesheen' lipstick finish; I find it far to glossy and quite difficult to handle. However this would be a good option for those with more dry lips who want something moisturising,  or even those who just like a glossier lip look!

With any lipsticks I'd argue that lip liners are a must for getting your lips looking neat and defined. They can also increase lipstick's staying power and make lips look more plump! My go-to lip liners are M.A.C stripdown, whirl and soar. I find these are the perfect nude shades and fab to mix and match with all the lipsticks mentioned above! To enhance the lip colour I'd usually pair the more pink-toned lipsticks with soar and the brown/yellow toned lipsticks with stripdown. However they all go well with each other, and can tone down or brighten up each lipstick according to personal preference!

Pictured above are swatches of all the lipsticks and liners on my hand so you can see better how they come out. I have a naturally olive skin tone and would recommend any of these shades! If unsure you can always try a few out at a M.A.C makeup counter to see which is most complimenting. The only negative I would say is that the lipsticks aren't great if you want something to last all day, they do rub off very easily and will need to be reapplied. These are good if you want a great choice of lipstick shades with excellent colour pay off!
